Julie Nolke is an actor, writer and the creator of her self titled sketch comedy YouTube channel. You may recognize her from her viral series “Explaining the Pandemic to my Past Self” which has garnered 50 million total views… not that anyone’s counting. In 2021 Julie won 3 Webby Awards: one for Best Individual Performance and two Audience Choice for Best Viral Video and Best Writing. She was also named one of 2020’s Top Canadian Breakout Creators by YouTube. #humblebrag #blessed Julie also produces content off of the web. Her short film, Are We Bad Feminists, screened at Buffer Festival (2019) where she won overall “Excellence in Writing”. In 2017 her film, Oil Men, won Best Alberta Short at the Edmonton International Film Festival. While writing, producing, editing and acting in content for the web, Julie also acts in film and TV. Recent credits include: What We Do in the Shadows (FX), The Boys (Amazon), TallBoyz (CBC), Workin’ Moms (CBC/Netflix), Odd Squad (PBS) and Cabin Connection (Super Channel). She also participated in the writers’ room for CBC’s newest comedy starring Andrew Phung, Run the Burbs. Julie enjoys black coffee, bounty bars and speaking in third person.
